Henk Vlug, Insect Consultancy
Henk Vlug until recently worked at the 'Instituut voor Plantenziektekundig Onderzoek' (IPO) (presently 'Plant Research International' <PRI>) in Wageningen, The Netherlands, where he has worked for a period of 32 years. In the last 25 years he specialized in research on white grubs in sports fields, golf courses and amenity grassland. In March 2001 he started Insect Consultancy, a bureau of which the main activity comprises extension service on white grub problems and field support for biological control (a.o. insect parasitic nematodes) of white grubs in grassland. In the past twenty years he also became an expert on the biology of leatherjackets in grassland.
Insect Consultancy is an independent consultancy bureau.

David Deakin, Otiorhynchinae Supply & Advice
David worked for ADAS for almost 20 years and during that time undertook many vine weevil studies for both DEFRA and corporate companies.
Studies included evaluating biological control methods and researching new chemicals, either incorporated into compost or applied as a drench.
During 1999, David set-up his own business to supply vine weevils for use in ADAS trials and now through recommendations he supplies vine weevil (at all stages) to R&D companies across Europe.
